About John "Will" Bacon
John “Will” Bacon, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and sees patients at Southeast Medical Group’s locations in Metter and Statesboro.
Will was born and raised in Sylvania, Georgia. Will completed a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, followed by a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Georgia Southern University (GSU) in Statesboro. Will additionally earned a Master of Science in Nursing from GSU. He served as treasurer, was voted “Most Professional Student” of his nursing class and was the recipient of the Curtis G. Hames Nursing Scholarship.
Will is accepting new patients ages 14 and older. Some of his medical interests include treating chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia, as well as acute problems like respiratory infections and muscular-skeletal injuries. He also specializes in outpatient orthopedic and dermatological procedures, men’s wellness, sleep medicine and depression and anxiety management.
Will prides himself on being active in his community as a current 2022 Leadership Georgia class member and an active associate of the Screven County Chamber of Commerce and the Screven County Development Authority. He is also a deacon at First Baptist Church of Sylvania.
Will has been happily married to his wife Dorie, Executive Director at the Screven County Development Authority, for nearly two decades. They have three elementary-age children, and their younger son and daughter are fraternal twins.
